The Hive- community arts project 2019

In collaboration with other artists, social changers, therapists, designers and film makers, as well as the local community,  Harriet had a vision to create a space that brings people together. A space that welcomed all members of the community to engage and connect – The Hive was a space that was alive and active with creative possibilities. Inviting people into a homely space, that offered opportunities that are interesting and inspiring to all generations, backgrounds, experience.

We created a space for the summer of 2019 to drink tea, eat cake, make something together and develop ideas. A place to get to know each other, share books, crafts, meditations, a dance, a song and some soup.

We offered daily workshops in drawing, dance, puppetry, music, cookery, craft and much more. The feed back was incredible.

The Hive was an enriching experience for everyone involved. Harriet hopes to continue to work with the community to develop creative ideas for the local area.

Dance projects and research
Just The Two Of Us explored a conversation between a man and a woman, a ritual, a comfort and an obsession the two shared. Translated through, movement, text and an electronic and live music score, the piece uses subtle humour and intense passion to deliver an un told message of a woman mis understood and man mis heard.

Solitude was a project Harriet worked in collaboration with a friend and dance artist Sheri Burt- the pair worked in different locations around the world inspired by the themes of Solitude. This short film was made on a small flip camera by Harriet whilst she travelled, researched and explored South America- Harriet was interested in contrast, in ritual and isolation, inner processes and spiritual connection.
